Vaccination

Horses must be vaccinated against Equine Influenza in order to compete at FEI events. Every horse’s vaccination record is checked at events to ensure that the horses has been vaccinated according to the FEI Veterinary regulations, therefore all Equine Influenza vaccines that have been given to the horse must be recorded in the horse’s passport and FEI HorseApp. Horses may require other vaccinations to protect them against equine infectious diseases that may be relevant in their environment, e.g. Equine Herpes Virus and West Nile Virus. These vaccines should be recorded in the horse’s passport.

A horse must complete a primary course of three vaccinations, followed by booster vaccinations to maintain eligibility for FEI competitions. The vaccination records must be accurately maintained in the horse's passport and also digitally in the FEI HorseApp.

In accordance with the FEI Veterinary Regulations, the equine influenza vaccination details must be recorded on the FEI HorseApp, in addition to being recorded in the Horse’s Passport.

The new vaccination module now available on the FEI HorseApp, allows the registration of equine influenza vaccination details on the FEI HorseApp for all FEI Horses.
